Privacy Policy

The Embroidery Cloud Limited runs this website and the products on it, including the Academy. When this policy says "we" or "us", that's who we mean. We are the data controller for the information described here.

We only collect what we need to run the platform:

• Account details. Your first name, last name, and email address when you create an account. Your phone number too, but only if you choose to give it. It's optional.
• Your password. Stored encrypted by our authentication provider. We never see it and we can't recover it for you.
• Payment records. The amount, currency, date, and status of your purchase. We never see or store your card details. Those go straight to our payment providers.
• Learning activity. Which lessons you've completed, your assessment results, and any certificates you earn.
• Newsletter details. Your first name and email, if you subscribe.
• Email engagement. Whether our emails to you were delivered, opened, or clicked.

We don't run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracking on this website. We don't build advertising profiles of you, and we don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone. Ever.

• To create and run your account, and let you sign in.
• To give you access to courses you've paid for, and track your progress through them.
• To take payment and keep a record of it.
• To issue your certificate when you pass an assessment.
• To send you emails about your account, your purchases, and your courses.
• To send you our newsletter, but only if you asked for it.
• To answer you when you get in touch.

We use a small number of trusted companies to actually run the service. They only get the data they need to do their job:

• Supabase. Stores your account and course data, and handles sign-in.
• Vercel. Hosts the website.
• Flutterwave and Paystack. Process payments. Your card details go to them, not to us.
• Amazon Web Services. Sends our emails, through Amazon SES.
• Bunny.net. Delivers the course videos.
• Cloudflare. Handles our domain and helps keep the site online.

Some of these companies are based outside Nigeria, so your data may be stored or processed abroad. We only use established providers who are contractually required to protect it.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone else's safety.

We keep your account data for as long as your account is open. Payment records are kept longer because tax and accounting rules require it. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data apart from what we're legally obliged to hold on to.

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, and similar laws elsewhere, you can ask us to:

• Show you a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correct anything that's wrong. You can edit most of it yourself in your profile.
• Delete your account and your data.
• Stop sending you marketing emails. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and you can manage your preferences from it.
• Object to how we're using your data, or ask us to restrict it.

Your connection to this site is encrypted. Passwords are hashed, card details never touch our servers, and access to student data is restricted to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and we'll tell you promptly if something goes wrong that affects you.

This platform is built for people running or learning a trade, and it isn't intended for children under 16. We don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll remove it.

We only use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in. There's no advertising or analytics tracking. The full detail is in our Cookie Policy.

If we change anything significant, we'll update the date at the top and, where it matters, let you know by email.
